$40,000 Win Kick Starts Business Dream

Baltimore Man to Start New Business with Lottery Winnings

Prize Line BingoA West Baltimore man will be able to fulfill a long-time dream of owning his own landscaping business thanks to a lucky Prize Line Bingo scratch-off. The man, who had been laid-off from a flooring company, is now looking forward to acquiring the final few pieces of heavy equipment needed for his business venture thanks to his $40,000 win.

“I was heading home on Sunday for Mother’s Day when I decided to get a ticket,” he told Lottery officials. The winner, a big fan of Maryland Lottery scratch-offs, had stopped by this particular store the previous day and noted that they had only a few Prize Line Bingo tickets left.

“I remembered that the store’s stock was low and figured he might have opened a new book of tickets,” he explained. After double checking with the clerk, the lucky man decided to pick up a couple of the tickets and left.

The future business owner scratched his ticket later at home, surrounded by family. “I was shocked, my heart was racing,” he shared. “We were all shouting, dancing and crying.” The winning ticket was purchased from the LG Wireless store at 2824 Edmondson Ave. in Baltimore. Prize Line Bingo still has two $40,000 winners in stores.

Brooklyn Woman Scratches Her Way to $40,000 Prize

Takes Top Prize on Prize Line Bingo Scratch-Off

The 73-year-old Brooklyn resident arrived at Lottery Headquarters yesterday to claim her first big Lottery win. A huge scratch-off fan, she admittedly plays every day and won $1,000 several years ago.  She counts Lottery games among her many hobbies, which also include reading, crossword puzzles and watching reality television.

It was just about two weeks ago that the retiree scratched her way to her $40,000 Prize Line Bingo win. Alone at the time of her discovery, the happy player was skeptical at first. “I checked it over and over again. Then, I said ‘Oh, my gosh.’” The winner quickly went outside to tell her neighbor about her good fortune.  The neighbor, who accompanied the winner to Lottery Headquarters, told officials, “She told me she won. I looked at the ticket and said ‘That’s right. You sure did.”

The winner intends to use her prize money to fund some much-needed home repairs. The winning ticket was purchased at Doc’s F & B Liquors, located at 7067 B & A Blvd. in Glen Burnie.

One More Ticket for Prince George’s Nurse

Wins $40,000 Playing Prize Line Bingo Scratch-Off

Nursing is the most rewarding job I. Cole of Landover Hills has ever known, she’d never even consider another line of work.  At the end of the day, though, it can be exhausting.  One thing she does to relax on the way home, she told lottery officials today, is to play scratch-off tickets.  As a result, Ms. Cole’s trip home yesterday was particularly memorable, as was her Tuesday morning.

“I picked out a few tickets and saw that I had $3 in change coming back,” today’s winner told us.  “On a whim I decided to add a $3 Prize Line Bingo ticket to my purchase.”  You can probably guess the rest of the story.  She scratched her tickets there in the store and saw that there was something special with that last ticket, that extra one she’d added on.  Careful study told her it was a winner, but she refused to believe.  “I didn’t tell anyone.  I was sure it would turn out to be a mistake.”

No mistake.  After the excitement of claiming her $40,000 prize had lessened a bit, Ms. Cole told officials she had to hurry along to work.  “My patients are expecting me.  I wouldn’t let them down even if this check was $40 million.”  She stayed long enough to share with us that part of her winnings would go to family here in Maryland and elsewhere.  The rest will go into the bank – there are downsizing rumors at her job and, though, she’s had other offers, the money will allow her to not worry about the near future as much as she might have.

Ms. Cole’s lucky lottery store is the Landover Hills Exxon station, 6579 Annapolis Rd. in Landover.
