Good Deeds Lead to Million Dollar Win

Baltimore City Woman Wins Top Prize on Lucky Times 20 Scratch-off

After hurricane Irene left many of her neighbors without power, the Baltimore City woman was in pursuit of dry ice to help them out. It was on one of her outings that she decided to stop at the ATM to get some cash.  “I was only going to get $40, but the $60 button on the ATM machine was calling my name,” said the winner.  That extra $20 would soon purchase her winning $1 million ticket. ”Lucky Times 20 is my favorite scratch-off,” she said. “I started buying it back in March and thought, ‘if I’m going to win something big I’m going to win on this.’”

The 49-year-old first bought two Lucky Times 20 scratch-off tickets, which were both non-winners. As she turned to leave the Erdman BP, she had a feeling that “this was it” and turned back and bought the third ticket.  She scratched it there in the store, revealing her $1 million win. She ran out of the store and headed home to share the news of her newfound wealth with her husband.  “I got home and told my husband we needed to talk,” she said with a grin. Her husband was shocked when he was told they were $1 million richer.  “I didn’t go to work that day because I knew I wouldn’t be able to think clearly,” he said.

The happy couple plans to continue helping family and friends with their prize money.  “This is such a relief to be able to afford to help others,” they said in agreement. The winning ticket was purchased at Erdman BP, located at 4901 Erdman Ave. in Baltimore.

Itch to Play Results in $50,000 Scratch-Off Win

Baltimore Woman Claims Lucky Times 20 Prize

Deanna Nuckles - Lucky Times 20Deanna Nuckles loves Maryland Lottery scratch-offs. The Baltimore City resident typically plays for a couple of weeks and will then stop for a period of time. Yesterday, she was itching to play and so she stopped at Bernie’s Liquors on her way home from work to purchase a few tickets.

The 41-year-old bought several and proceeded to scratch them in the store. She was nearly finished when she revealed her Lucky Times 20 win. “I thought I’d won $20,” said Deanna. “Then the store clerk scratched the amount.” Much to Deanna’s surprise and delight, she was told that she was actually $50,000 richer. “I was like, ‘Oh my God. I never thought I’d win that kind of money.’”

Deanna, who was accompanied to Lottery Headquarters by her husband Kenneth, described her emotions as “overwhelmed and excited.” The mother-of-one immediately called her spouse to share the good news, all the while remaining unconvinced of her win. “I just kept looking at the ticket over and over again. I didn’t think it was real.”

Now, with the win confirmed, Deanna intends to use the prize money to pay for her son’s college course and her and her sister’s credit card bills. She will invest the rest or perhaps use some of the money to update the house. Husband Kenneth is urging her to take a portion to take a vacation. Travel plans remain unconfirmed as Deanna said, “I want to be cautious. That money goes fast.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Bernie’s Liquors, located at 2509 Washington Blvd., in Baltimore.

Silver Spring Woman Gets a $1 Million Birthday Surprise

Wins Top Prize on Lucky Times 20 Scratch-Off

Judy Cohen, her husband Eli, and her 92-year-old father Joe have a ritual. They love to buy scratch-off tickets together. While running routine errands the day before Judy’s birthday, the trio decided to pick-up a Lucky Times 20 ticket. Lucky for them, they chose the right ticket and scratched their way to a $1 million top prize.

“We were in the car and I started scratching the ticket,” said Judy. “At first, I thought we had won $100,000 but that was because my husband didn’t have his glasses on.” Judy continued, “Then, we realized there was another zero that we hadn’t scratched yet.  That was when we started screaming.”

The lucky winners told Lottery officials that their win came at an extremely emotional time. Judy’s brother passed away just a month ago. “It’s been really hard for my family, especially my father, who is a Holocaust survivor and has felt much heartache. We only wish that my brother was here to share in our joy.”

Since the win came on Judy’s birthday, her two children plan to celebrate by taking her out on the town. The family has decided to take the cash option and share the winnings. They also plan to pay a few bills and maybe go on a family trip. The winning ticket was purchased at Aspen Hill Liquor, Beer and Wine, located on Connecticut Avenue in Silver Spring.

Trip to Grocery Store Satisfies Hunger for Win

Rockville Woman Wins $50,000 on Lucky Times 20 Scratch-Off

Lucky Times 20Friday afternoon, finished with her shopping and leaving the store laden with grocery bags, the Rockville woman decided to stop at the Lottery’s instant ticket vending machine and purchase one Lucky Times 20 scratch-off. That little deviation from her departure resulted in a $50,000 win for the happy 50-year-old.

The woman, who works for the federal government, began scratching her ticket even as she continued her exit. “I saw the 10X bonus first,” said the woman. She then proceeded to scratch the rest and quickly realized that she had won 50 grand. “I did the math and knew something was pretty good. I was sort of numb,” she said.

The occasional Lottery player quickly phoned her fiancée with the good news and he shared in her excitement. The twosome intends to use the winnings to buy a new roof and do some other things which they’ve been putting off.  The winning ticket was purchased at Giant #127, located at 17821 Georgia Ave. in Olney. The Lucky Times 20 scratch-off still has two $1 million prizes and three $50,000 prizes available to be won.

Lucky Lady Purchases Lucky Times 20 Winning Ticket at Lucky Store

Lucky Times 20Luck was in the cards yesterday for an 84-year-old Odenton woman.  Not only did the lucky lady purchase a $50,000 winning Lucky Times 20 scratch-off ticket, but she bought the ticket at a Lucky Superette store.

The “luck” couldn’t have come at a better time.  Feeling the pain of a recent death in her family, the winner was relieved to have a little joy come into her life.  She purchased the ticket early yesterday, but didn’t get a chance to scratch it until last night.  “Once before, I scratched a ticket and thought I had won $5,000, but it was only $500,” said the winner, who plans to pay some bills with her prize.  “This time, I had my son double check it to be sure I wasn’t seeing things.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Lucky’s Superette, located at 1101 Odenton Rd. in Odenton.  This was the second $50,000 Lucky Times 20 prize claimed at Lottery Headquarters today.  Earlier, a Silver Spring man claimed his prize.  The Lucky Times 20 game still has two $1 million top prizes, four $50,000 prizes, and many more lower-tier prizes remaining.

Silver Spring Man Wins $50,000 On Lucky Times 20 Scratch-Off

Lucky Times 20“I felt hot,” said the 48-year-old public relations professional, who came to Lottery Headquarters today to claim his big win. Chatting amiably, he said that he was heading home from visiting his dad who is in an assisted living facility, and on the heels of this good deed, he figured that his luck was high. So, when he stopped to get gas, he purchased one Lucky Times 20 scratch-off. That ticket yielded a $20 win, so he decided to reinvest his prize and bought one more Lucky Times 20, which happened to be the last one of its kind on the shelf..

”I hated to leave the last one,” said the single-Silver Spring man. He scratched it right there in the store to reveal his big prize. “I saw I’d won $10,000 and was pleased with that. Then I scratched the multiplier and there was that beautiful five. It was like blam!”  Nevertheless, the lucky winner checked his ticket again and again and then asked the clerk to check it as well. Confirming his good fortune, the clerk was rewarded with $100 on the spot. “He couldn’t stop smiling,” said the winner referring to the sales person.

With his newfound wealth, the happy winner intends to buy a stove for his mom and a flat screen television for himself. “Then I have to get serious and think about retirement and bills.” Laughing he then added, “I may have to spend a little on a vacation somewhere warm this winter.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Silver Spring Metro Exxon, located at 8384 Colesville Rd. in Silver Spring.

Montgomery County Man Brings in the Luck with $1 Million Prize

Wins Top Prize on Lucky Times 20 Scratch-Off

Lucky Times 20A typical Saturday for most people is catching up on rest, spending time with family and running errands.  But for one Silver Spring man, this past Saturday was anything but typical.  After a trip to the local Costco with his three sons, he purchased a few Lucky Times 20 scratch-offs at a 7-11.  “I purchased three tickets. The first ticket wasn’t a winner, the second wasn’t a winner…”

After matching the number 50, he scratched off prize amount, revealing the top prize of $1 million. After looking at the ticket for a while, the lucky winner took it home to share the good fortune with his wife. Neither one of them could believe their luck; they were still in shock today at Lottery headquarters.

“This is my 529 plan (college fund) for the kids,” said the winner, who is a government worker.  “My oldest son will be heading off to college soon.” He chose the annuity option, which will provide the winner with a check for the next 20 years.

The avid Lottery player enjoys scratch-offs, and occasionally plays Multi-Match, especially when the jackpots are at $1 million.  That seems to be his lucky jackpot number.  “I always knew he was going to eventually win something big,” said his wife.

The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-11, located at 10550 Baltimore Avenue in Beltsville.
